Building Employment Skills

At Opportunity Foundation, this program partners with local employers to create supportive, hands-on work experiences for small groups of participants. Individuals spend a few hours each week at a business, where they practice job tasks, learn workplace expectations, and build relationships in a real-world setting. With guidance and encouragement, participants develop confidence, strengthen their skills, and gain a better understanding of what employment looks like. These experiences are designed to help bridge the gap between learning and independent employment, ultimately preparing individuals to successfully pursue and maintain jobs within the community.

GlasWeld - Bend

We partner with GlasWeld. A dedicated team works together to assemble product packages, gaining valuable job skills, earning wages, and building confidence while contributing to the success of a local business.

Pyrotect Safety - Redmond

We partner with Pyrotect Safety. Participants assist with organizing materials, cleaning facilities, and maintaining sanitation standards throughout the workplace. This meaningful work helps individuals develop workplace skills.

Central Electric Cooperative - Redmond

We partner with Central Electric Cooperative. Participants assist with cleaning and sanitizing facilities, maintaining organized workspaces, and completing a variety of other support tasks. This partnership provides meaningful opportunities to achieve greater personal growth.

Brightwood - Madras

We partner with Brightwood Inc. Participants assist with a variety of labor tasks and support facility operations, helping maintain a safe, organized, and productive work environment. Through this partnership, individuals gain valuable work experience that will be used to gain community employment.

WindowAlert - Bend

We partner with Window Alert. Participants help package bird-safety window decals, developing valuable workplace skills, earning wages, and contributing to the success of a mission-driven business while promoting bird conservation.

Cascade Behavioral - Bend

We partner with Cascade Behavioral Health. Through this partnership, participants help maintain a clean, safe, and organized environment by sanitizing toys, chairs, tables, and other common areas, as well as organizing supplies throughout the facility. This meaningful work helps foster greater independence in a supportive team environment.

McMenamins - Bend

We partner with McMenamins. Participants help stack and organize firewood for use during the colder months, as well as assist with a variety of other tasks around the property. This partnership provides valuable hands-on work experience..

Treasure Valley Coffee Company - Redmond

We partner with Treasure Valley Coffee Company. Participants assist with cleaning, organizing, and preparing customer orders, gaining valuable workplace experience.

General Duffy's - Redmond

We partners with General Duffy’s. Participants help clean facilities and maintain the grounds by collecting litter and supporting venue upkeep. Through this partnership builds confidence in a supportive team environment.
